AICCRA Ghana Cluster Project
Creating seamless access to data and information along the agricultural value chain promises a radical change in transforming agriculture and food systems around the world, towards eliminating hunger and poverty, creating truly sustainable climate smart systems and meeting the 2030 Sustainable Development.
Our intention to engage Stakeholder prior to implementation of the Ag-Data Hub was to listen to, collaborate with and keep existing institutions already working towards the single goal of improving the Agricultural subsector in one way or the other informed. This process included identifying, mapping and prioritizing stakeholders to determine the best tactics for effective data sharing as well as optimize the use of available resources. The process carried out has built connections, trust, confidence, and buy-in of key initiatives and this will mitigate potential risks and conflicts with stakeholder groups, including uncertainty, dissatisfaction, misalignment, disengagement, and resistance towards the goal of establishing an exchange hub between data holding and data consuming institution. Data sources, existing tools and existing infrastructure were discussed during the stakeholder institutions.

Absence of digital data exchange infrastructure between stakeholders and value chain actors.
Inadequate/ineffective End-User products and dashboards that answers directly to the needs of policy makers and other actors in the Agricultural value chain.
There is a huge data engineering, data analytics and data science skill gap in many stakeholder institutions.
Partner Institutions shall be supported to host specialized tools directly linked to the Hub. This is an example of such platforms currently being worked on with G-MET. The services of developers, data engineers and data scientist will be engaged to develop scorecards and other tools for on-going interventions that directly feed into the Ag Data Hub and Dashboards for MELIA
This component will also onboard new tools and portals as well as redirect traffic to existing Climate Smart Agriculture Tools like IITA’s CSC Implementer Mobile APP, GMET daily and seasonal Weather forecast, CSIR’s Agritech Advisor and many more to be developed by partner institutions based on frequent user needs assessment revisions. Target users include Farmers Organizations, Breeders' organization, Telephone companies, NGOs, Disasters Risk Reduction Agencies, Rural Radio association and individuals.
Various institute will contribute to the development of specific needs dashboards with data from multiple stakeholders. These thematic dashboards will also provide links to existing informative dashboards and portals. Some identified categories of dasboards ander this category will include Disaster Preparedness & Planning Dashboard, Transport and Public Safety Dashboard, National/Local Authorities Management Dashboard, Crops and Livestock Health Dashboard, Agriculture and Food Security Dashboard, Water Resources Management Dashboard
During the project implementation, the technical implementation team shall work with partner institutions to develop relevant decision support dashboards from a multi-stakeholder data as a mechanism to assist policy makers in mainstreaming gender, climate and biodiversity in governmental and institutional decisions. Stakeholder may also leverage on this dashboard to create or redirect traffic to existing dashboards or others they are yet to develop.
